air according to the Radiation Protection Ordinance (2018:506) Chapter 3. 6 §.

Employers (those who hire labor) for activities where the radon level exceeds the reference level as an annual average shall notify this to SSM in accordance with Section 4 or Section 5 of SSMFS 2018:10.
Notification must be made on a form provided by the Authority.

Certain workplaces must be notified in accordance with section 5 of SSMFS 2018:10.
For activities with a particularly high risk of workers being exposed to radon, where workers are at risk of receiving an annual radon exposure exceeding 0.72 megabecquerel-hours per cubic meter (0.72bMBqh/m3) during working hours (this value corresponds to an exposure of approximately 400 Bq/m3), this notification.

A renewed notification under sections 4 and 5 shall include current measured values of radon levels in air.
Measurements to determine radon exposure to workers shall be made by methods that provide a representative value of radon levels and the equipment used for measurement shall be calibrated to a quantity with international traceability.

The notification obligation started on April 9, 2019 and the notification must be received by the Authority by July 9, 2019.

The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority is now devoting more resources to the supervision of activities whose staff are exposed to higher levels of radon.

Low radon levels must be sought at all underground workplaces and measurements must be taken regularly, but at least once a year in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on rock and mining work AFS 2010:1 § 27.

Employers who do not carry out measurements must
